Miss India 2017 is an annual national beauty pageant organized by The Times Group magazine Femina. Miss India 2017 winner gets the chance to represent India in Miss Universe while the first runner of the competition competes for Miss World and second runner up gets the chance to represent India in International or Asia Pacific titles.
The Femina Miss India competition started in the year 1947 when Esther Victoria Abraham was crowned first Ms. India. India’s international competition started in the year 1952 when IndraniRehman represented India in the first ever inaugural Ms. Universe competition.

Format of Miss India 2017 Competition

- · The height of the participant must be at least five feet and six inches or above.
- · The participant must be between the ages of 18-25 years till last date 31st Dec 2017.
- · The participant must not be married or engaged
- · Every participant must hold a valid passport verified by Embassy.
Apart from above participation criteria, there are certain official documents that must be submitted in order to validate participation in event. This may include following details.
- · An age proof document need to be submitted which may include driving license, school leaving certificate, pan card, passport etc.

About Femina Miss India 2016
Femina Miss India 2016 finale held on 9th April 2016 in Mumbai and Priyadarshini Chatterjee was crowed former Miss India 2015 Aditi Arya as the winner of beauty pageant. She represented India at Miss Universe 2016. Sushruthi Krishna was first runner up and PankhuriGidwani was declared as second runner up.
It’s been a hatrick for New Delhi as in 2016, it was third time a winner was crowned from Delhi. Priyadarshini Chatterjee is the third Delhi Girl after Koyal Rana (Miss India 2014) and Aditi Arya (Miss India 2015). Going by the history and talent coming from Delhi, we can expect one of the Miss India 2017 Finalists to be hailing from New Delhi.

In this competition, city wide auditions are carried out in different cities such Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Nagpur, Chandigarh, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.
The participants shortlisted from the city get a chance to join the final round in Mumbai.
